A lot of small businesses end up stitching together software that almost does what they need, but not quite. When that happens, I build something custom instead. For one client, that meant a full website with a CRM and dashboard built in, so they could manage clients and see what's happening in their business from one place instead of juggling three different tools.

If you're doing something by hand that a computer could handle instead, it's usually worth automating. One example: a client needed a reliable way to back up their files without having to think about it, so I set them up with a NAS system that handles local backups automatically in the background — no manual step, no remembering to do it.

Getting your email, files, and team tools set up right makes a bigger difference than most people expect. I've helped a client move their entire operation into Google Workspace, migrating years of existing data over cleanly so nothing got lost, and the whole team could start working from one shared system from day one.

This covers the physical side of your technology — hardware, networking, and making sure it's set up to actually hold up. Recently that meant walking a client through a new laptop setup from scratch: picking the right machine for what they actually do and configuring it properly, rather than leaving them to figure it out alone.

Most of my work doesn't end at launch. Once a system's in place, whether that's a website, a workspace migration, or a backup setup, I stick around for the questions that come up afterward and the small adjustments that come with actually using something day to day.
